VERIFY INFORMATION Now you are at Step 2 of the Checkout Process - Verifying your order. This is where payment information is collected. Here you will see any shipping and handling charges that are added to the order - based on what you choose to charge as the merchant. Also, note the 'locked' paddlelock in your browser's status window. This ensures your customer that they are entering confidential information over a secure connection. Information entered under this method is encrypted for security reasons. Upon clicking 'Check Out', the purchasing transaction will be complete and you, the merchant, will receive the order request. The 'customer' will receive a confirmation email, indicating that the order has been placed and detailing the item(s) purchased. (If you filled in a valid e-mail address in the Customer Information section of the form, a copy of this demo's order request email will be sent to you - check your email inbox). You, the merchant, would then receive notification of the sale so that you could fulfill the order request. We will review the Merchant Tools in the next section of this tutorial. So far, isn't this easy? Your customer is able to look for and purchase any items you have for sale; and you are offering this ability around the clock! |
